DOMINIC AMERENA

  • I am an Australian writer, and my debut novel, I Want Everything, is the first novel published by Summit Books in Australia. It’s available to buy here.

I Want Everything has been described as a “masterpiece”, “a modern Australian classic”, and a “superb debut”. The Guardian called it a “a playful, delicious tale of deception”, The Monthly “a sharp-tongued literary caper.” and the The Age “scurrilously funny meditation on ambition and economic insecurity.”

It’s being published in August by Scribner in the UK, and is getting translated into Greek and Italian.

My fiction, essays and criticism have been published widely. New writing has appeared in Kill Your Darlings, The Age, The Los Angeles Review of Books and New Australian Fiction 2024.

I’ve won numerous prizes, grants and fellowships, most recently: the Vil La Joana Residency, Hawthornden Fellowship, the Speculate Prize, an Australia Council New Work Grant, and the Alan Marshall Short Story Award.

I’m represented by Grace Heifetz, at a4 Literary, I have a PhD from the University of RMIT and I live in Athens, Greece.
